BBQ Ribs

I'm starting to get a little more adventerous with my eating habits, so the other day when I was offered a rib fresh from the grill - I took it. Man alive did it smell good! God sure created one heck of a meal when he created BBQ Ribs. Now eating them, that's a whole different story! I mostly just played with it, and then I finally stuck some in my mouth..... My mom was laughing so hard at my expression she missed the inital photo, but here's a .00332569 second delay photo still documenting some of my shock of BBQ sauce!!
But later when asked if I would try them again, I gave my normal "YUP!" answer and smiled pretty.

Tumble = Goose Egg

Today when I was outside playing, I took a little tumble on the back porch. I was playing with something in my hands, so when my feet stumbled, my hands didn't break my fall. Instead my nose and forehead did. I had a delayed cry, but I cried long and hard when I did start to cry. Now I'm fine though. I just have a bloody part on my nose and a big red goose egg on my forehead!
Don't worry, I'll be okay. I've already wanted to go outside to play more! I like the photo above, too, because you can really see my pretty ear's all pierced!!!

Playing Outside

Since the weather has turned so nice, we've been playing outside a lot in the afternoons and evenings. The dogs really like it too. But Peanut and Ophelia have to be hooked together, otherwise Peanut might run off. But Ophelia doesn't run as much as Peanut, so poor Peanut doesn't get to run near as much as she would like.
Most of the time I just end up trying to run behind them, but I'm WAY behind them. If I happen upon a tennis ball, I'll try to throw it, but I can't throw it very far.
I just enjoy being outside so very much!!!

I wish I could stay outside all the time!

Old College Friends

I know this blog is supposed to be about me, but my mom wanted to share a little bit about her life, too. Recently, some of the girls who she lived with for three years in college all got together for a fun weekend! Not everyone is in this photo, but it's the one mom thought she didn't look the "fattest" in. What can you expect when you are seven months pregnant, though? At least that's what I am always telling her (silly mom with low self esteem!!!) In this photo from left to right is Sarah, Jody, Tabitha, Megan and Mom. There are two more girls not pictured, Jillian and Nicole. Between all seven of the college roommates, they have six daughters! My mom is the first of any of them to have a little boy!!! The girls live all across the country - four different states. So they only all get together about once a year - and have a blast each time!
And then one of my mom best friends is moving to California this weekend! *tear* Aimee and her family are relocating because of a job change. So Mom and Aimee got together to hang out one last time this week. Aimee has a daughter named Selah, you might remember I posted pictures from her Princess birthday party earlier this year. We'll miss you guys!!!!!!

Begging for Dessert

My PaPa, Gramps and Grammy live with us now, just in case anyone forgot. I love it because Gramps eats dessert every night. And I've learned that if I crawl up on the couch next to him and just stare at him with my big beautiful blue eyes, soon enough he'll get a little bite on his spoon and lean the spoon my way!!! He's a sucker that way. Here's some proof....
And boom! Spoon in my mouth with sweet delights!!!!
And his dog, Peanut, watched my actions and wondered if it would work for her too. Poor Gramps... Me on one side begging and Peanut on the other side!

New Toys

A couple of weeks ago at a garage sale, my mom bought me my very own arm chair! It even rocks. For awhile I wouldn't even approach it, but now I love it. I sit in it all the time!

And just after I was born I got some sparkly shoes. They were supposed to fit me LAST summer, but I have such tiny feet they are just NOW fitting me! Aren't they pretty???

I got my EARS PIERCED!!!!!

Guess what?! I got my EARS PIERCED!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I look so pretty now!! I could have gotten little CZ's, my birthstone or simple gold balls. Dad thought the gold balls were prettiest, so I agreed with him. Here's my BEFORE photo... As the tech was cleaning and prepping, I was watching everything she was doing... Dad was trying to tell me everything was okay...
But then she came at me and I saw the needle... I started to cry. Dad had to hold my head steady and hold my arms down... At least the girl was really quick! It was over before I knew it!!
Then Mom started to tease me with some pretty dangle bracelets and I was giggling and happy again! Can you see my new earings here????
Then the tech gave me a sucker. My parents didn't want me to eat it, but they let me crinkle it. It made a funny noise. Mom couldn't stop admiring my new look!
On the car ride home, I discovered how to open the sucker and had it half eaten before my parents knew it! I was a sticky mess by the time we got home, so I got put straight in the bathtub before I could show off my earrings to Grammy, Gramps and Pa Pa.

Cell Phone

My parents got new cell phones a couple of months ago, and they kept their old one just in case. Since I love to try to play with anything that has buttons, one day Dad gave me the old cell phone to become my toy. Ever since, it's been my favorite toy!! Without anyone having to show me, I know to open the flip phone and hold it up to my ear! I'll even say, "HI!" Then I try to hold the phone to your ear so you can say HI, too!
My doll has an armchair that sits in the living room. But I like to sit in the chair.... One day Mom walked into the living room and saw me sitting in the chair just talking away on the cell phone. She giggled and said it was the perfect photo op. And I hammed it up for her, she deserves it being all big and pregnant after all!

Ethan's Open House

The day after the graduation, Ethan and his friend Tyler had a joint open house for friends and family to come hang out a little bit. It meant lots and lots of good food, lots of hugs from people and of course another chance to wear another cute dress!!!! Mom took my picture on Grant Kathy's bed, because she thought it would look like a pretty background to show off my dress!
Ethan's big sister Katee made all the food... She's in culinary school right now, so all of it was spectacular!! She made a ton of these chocolate truffles, which of course no one would share with me even though I begged and begged...
And of course with our family, we had Monkey Meat!! People shared these kabobs with me and I loved them! Mom was careful I didn't drip the sauce on my dress though... Katee did such a great job with the food!
Congrats Ethan!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you!! (Even if my mom keeps saying something about how you are going to her college rival school....)

Ethan's Graduation

My big cousin Ethan is all grown up now! He graduated High School!!! On a rainy Friday night, half the town piled into the convention center for the big celebration. I was proud to be there to support Ethan. And of course, another chance to wear a cute dress! Mom did my hair in two cute pigtails, which of course curled right up!
Don't we look cute together?
But then he started to make funny faces at me....and I just watched. I think he was trying to make me giggle, but it was past my bedtime so I was pretty mellow....

Growing up!

This week I've had several signs of growing up!! On Thursday, I went to the doctor for my 15 month check up... Here's my current stats - I'm 30 inches tall (45 percentile) and I weigh 21 pounds and 8 ounces (25 percentile). Everything else was looking good the doctor said! She asked if I was feeding myself with a spoon yet, and when my Daddy said no, she recommended we try it... So on Friday for lunch, I got to feed myself!!!!

I fed myself an entire tub of yogurt all by myself! I was such a mess after that Grammy had to give me a bath! I even had yogurt in my hair! Everyone laughed at me because I would hold the spoon upside down from the tub to my mouth. Mom said I would need to learn how to use the spoon right before we tried something more liquidy.

Another way I'm growing up is my mastering of STAIRS!!! Since Paw Paw, Peanut, Grammy and Gramps all live downstairs now, I've been wanting to go down there. So they taught me how to go down stairs on my belly. I'm a pro now!! And I have been crawling up stairs for several weeks. It's fun going up and down all by myself! (but those silly adults seem to think they need to be close by...)
