Circle of Life

It's a strange thing this circle of Life. God sure knows what he is doing though, He's got the whole thing under control. This past week has been pretty tramatizing to my young soul. Early in the week I got the Hand, Foot and Mouth virus. Thanks to all your prayers, I'm almost fully recovered! And my cousin William who was visiting last weekend did NOT catch it from me, so for that I am thankful. But then later in the week, we lost poor Turk. But I believe in that 1980's cartoon movie "All Dogs go to Heaven" so I think I'll see him again one day. But my mother, the dear thing, with all her raging pregnancy hormones has been bawling for two straight days. I haven't seen Dad cry, but I know he's struggling as well. It's a long sad story that I really don't want to delve into right now, but thank goodness we have Ophelia (who we also think is really missing Turk).

But I titled this post "Circle of Life" because God has a way of bringing some happiness into your life just when something bad happens. Kinda like in the first season of Lost, in the same episode when Boone died, Claire delivered Aaron! Well, same thing here. We lost one member of our family, but we are soon gaining three!!! You see, my Great Grandpa is getting quite frail and needs full time care. So he's going to move in my downstairs! And then Grammy and Gramps are going to move in as well to be his care givers. So all three are in the process this weekend of moving in! It's been a busy weekend. I had to move ALL my toys upstairs, but it fun learning how to finally go down stairs on my own. I already knew how to go up, but now I can go down! It will be interesting with three new people in the house for a time, but I'm looking forward to it!

Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus

Well... It got me. I got the Virus.... No, not chicken pox, the OTHER common red dot. I got Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus. My mouth (inside and out) are covered in these huge red dot/blisters. It hurts to eat or drink, so I have refused. My throat is all swollen, so it really really really hurts. And I have a constant fever that keeps my hair all sweaty. Now the blisters have started on my hands, feet, legs and under my diaper area!!! YUCK!!!! I can't stop crying and just want my parents to hold me all the time. And I'm very contagious, so I can't be around other kids... I'm just miserable.... Please pray for me.

Reading to William

This past weekend my cousin William came down for a visit!!! I hadn't seen him since he was born, so I was so happy to spend time with him! Here I was reading a book to him and his daddy BT. BT is funny, he makes me laugh!
I loved my time with Aunt Leah, too!! I love when I get to spend time with family!!

Fun at the Park

On one of the first nice days outside, Mom and I went out to the Park!!! It was my first time ever to there, so I wasn't really sure what to do or how to enjoy it. But I sure enjoyed watching the other kids! And then suddenly, I realized I KNEW two other kids!! (who both happen to be redheads!) My parents friends Misty and Shawn have two kids Elijah and Eden who were also enjoying the nice weather! Elijah is back behind us on the slide, and here Eden is showing off her brand new walking skills. She's only 9 months old, too!!! (and has about three times as much hair as me!)

Easter!

I know this is really late, but HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was walking around the house with my fun Rabbit Ears on and Mom caught me admiring myself in the mirror (something I am loving to do recently)... And here's my Easter Basket... Three pretty dresses!!!!
Then on Easter Sunday, my mom's side of the family got together for a big dinner! Here I am relaxing with Great Grandpa!

AZ Trip Day 7 Part 2

Arizona Trip - Royals vs Giants

After playing around all morning, on our 7th day of vacation, we went back out to the ballpark to watch another game. Today the Royals were playing the Giants. The stadium isn't very big, so no matter where you sit, you have a great view! This time, we were lucky enough to be under the big stands so we were in the shade the whole game! I tended to get a little restless, so Mom and I would walk around to let me stretch my legs... I found a railing that became my friend. I played on that railing for hours!! And I would stop to watch the game a bit too...
But soon I would go back to climbing again!
I love my time in Arizona and maybe next year we can come back!! My parents told me it was last day there, and I was sad. I didn't want to go home yet... But alas, on the morning of our 8th day, we checked out of the hotel, returned our rental car and went to the airport. We had several hours to kill, but thankfully a Maggie Moo's was there to serve us ice cream! Daylight Savings Time happened while we were on our trip, but since Arizona doesn't do it, we had a two hour time difference coming home instead of just one like it should have been. So even though it was a three hour flight, our clocks were five hours different!! So needless to say, it was really really late by the time we got home, but none of us were tired yet! Especially me, since I slept almost the entire three hour flight home!!!

Back to home sweet home.... (and the cold, and the snow.....)

AZ Trip Day 7 Part 1

Arizona Trip - Coasters and Castles

On the morning of our 7th day in Arizona, we had several hours to kill before we wanted to head back out to Surprise for the next baseball game. Just down the street from our hotel was this quasi amusment park called Coasters and Castles. It had roller coasters, bumper boats and cars, mini golf, full arcade, etc. We didn't ride of the rides because I was too small. But Mom and Dad did play a round of mini golf. I was Dad's caddy for him. Here I was trying to help him decide on the 4 or 5 Iron... Then Mom set the timer on the camera to try and take a family shot, but I didn't understand the concept of staring at the camera for ten seconds. I enjoyed looking at my parents, though!
After Dad kicked Mom's butt in golf, we went inside to try our hands at video games. We played Air Hockey, and I wanted to drive the racecar, but I couldn't quite reach....
So then while Dad drove the racecar, Mom and I went over and played Skeeball!! It was fun!!!

AZ Trip Day 6 Part 3

Arizona Trip - Swimming at the Hotel

After we got back to the hotel after the baseball game, we all decided to go swimming in the pool. Really I think Mom just wanted to play dress up with me in my new swimsuit! So we all went outside to play in the pool. Dad jumped in first and then Mom tried to hand me down to Dad....

WHAT?!?!?

How DARE THEY!?!?! I was going to drown!! And it was so hot outside, this bathtub looked so big and so many people were in it already!!! So I let them know I did NOT want to go in. I started to scream and wave my arms and cry like a maniac!

Both my parents got really embarrassed. Since Mom hadn't gotten into the pool yet, she quickly gathered our things I took me back to our hotel room to calm me down (which I needed since I was screaming and crying so hard!) Dad stayed out to swim and cool off.

Back in the comfort of our hotel room, I was fine. Even being silly with Mom....
Silly Mom tried to kiss me!!!!!!!!

AZ Trip Day 6 Part 2

Arizona Trip - Royas vs Cubs

Part of the reason we came up to Phoenix area was actually to drive to the suburb called Surprise to go to Royals Spring Training!! On this day, the Royals were playing the Cubs, so the place was almost sold out! And boy oh boy was it hot!! Check out my wonderful family, all decked out in Royals Blue! It was so hot outside in the sun, so Mom and I walked around a lot to try and keep my pale skin in the shade. (even though they had lathered me up with so much sunscreen I smelled like a fresh coconut!) I was pretty obvilious to the fact a baseball game was going on, but I sure enjoyed playing with my stroller!
After the game ended, there was a mad rush to catch players to get their autograph! Dad though if he held me maybe I could bring a few more players over. It semi-worked! We got several autographs, but not as many as we wanted.
After all the players left the field, we hung out at the park for a few minutes to let the rush of cars leave before us. Don't tell Dad, but I think he just wanted to wait and see if he could see where the players came out after their showers to get more autographs. I enjoyed the people watching during this waiting time!
Dad and I posed in front of the Royals sign and we were waving to Mommy!

AZ Trip Day 6 Part 1

Arizona Trip - First full day in Phoenix

On our first full day in Phoenix, we went to go visit our Uncle Bruce! He has a daughter who has two daughters! I'm not used to playing with girls and little girl toys, because all my parent's friends have little boys mostly! So it was really fun to get to play with little girls for a change!!! Jenna is the younger one, she is a few months older than me!! She taught me all about cute fun toys I'm sure I'll start to collect here in the next couple of years. Something called the "Littlest Pet Shop" or something like that...

I had a lot of fun with them! Too bad they live so far away, otherwise I could play with them more!

I need to get my stomach under control first, though....
