For a long Labor Day Weekend, we crowded more people and stuff into the Suburban than it could handle. Call us China! Inside the Suburban, we crammed myself, Mom, Dad, Turk, Ophelia, as well as Nate and Devon Watson! Oh, and don't forget all the bags, pack-n-play, dog food, human food....the list goes on and on and on. Guess that is why Dad bought one of the biggest SUV's money can buy!
We got down late on Friday night and were surprised at the lack of traffic. Maybe everyone was earlier in the evening driving down. We didn't care! The three of us girls played in the backseat... Well, I should say Mom and Devon played - by tickling me! Everyone always comments my wee giggle is too adorable and wants to hear more of it. God, why did you make me ticklish?!?!
Saturday morning, before the Nebraska football game, it was time to play on the dock. The temps were a little too chilly to swim, but we just enjoyed fishing and watching the three dogs run and play! I was hanging out on Gramp's lap with Peanut, then she took off and I gleefully watched her trying to chase the monstosity of Turk. I got a little too excited and started to "bounce" resulting in crashing my chin on the wood back of the chair - to which I proceeded to fill the entire cove in ear piercing screams of pain. Whoops. Luckily, Dad was close by to comfort me.
After I calmed down, I joined Devon in the Purple hammock chair from Mexico! I was determined to figure out how those Mexicans made it - after all, Christmas will be here soon and I need to make my Grandma something for her back porch!
While I was studying the hammock chair, Dad and Nate decided to catch some of the shad swimming around the dock for bait. Boy could Nate toss that throw net!! He could get it to open up perfectly and always ended up with a bucket full of shad. Mom and Devon got the bug, too, so Mom stole the net from Nate and tossed it out. She was quite proud of herself for getting it to open full circle, but she didn't get the height and distance Nate was able to. But Mom was probably the Shad Queen, as she probably caught the most.

Finally, it was time to watch Nebraska kick some Nevada butt! Dad was determined to watch the Mizzou game, but Devon would have none of it. So during commercials, we would flip and watch the Tigers. Thankfully, it was a good college opener with both of them starting the season 1-0. Soon it was dinner time, and we all enjoyed a nice dinner out on the deck. Mom and Devon giggled about how they ate dinner out here many times last Labor Day, but that was because my mom was suffering with extreme morning sickness (because of me......) and couldn't stand the smell of cooking food!!! This year, we ate outside because the weather was so darn nice!
